I was at the Sustainability Live event in London last week and talked to some very interesting people and absorbed some really useful facts and figures. The event is linked to the Sustainability magazine and website (https://sustainabilitymag.com), which is a leading voice on all things sustainable and has just published a list of who they consider the Top 100 sustainable companies. Leading the way at No. 1 is Schneider Electric, a global business that strives to ’empower all to make the most of energy and resources, bridging progress and sustainability for all’. They’ve got a nice catchy slogan – Life is On.

This is not the first time they have been voted No. 1 either. In 2021 it got top billing by Corporate Knights Global 100 Index (a sustainable economy resource).  So what’s it doing right ?

The company has been living under strict sustainability principles for many years and is closely aligned to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. In essence they are a tech company based around the principle that electricity is the best vector for decarbonization. They help numerous businesses digitize their energy management and industrial automation in an efficient and sustainable way. They also act as a consultancy partner to many different companies helping them get the most out of their infrastructure, climate targets, and supply chains.

Talking to some of their spokespeople at the event and reading their website it is easy to see how passionate and genuine they are about making the world a better and more sustainable place.
