The SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit, in Birmingham this year, brings together around 1,500 leaders and key decision makers from over 120 International Federations (IFs), the International Olympic Committee, and organisations involved in the business of sport.
The Summit provides an unrivalled platform enabling global business leaders and host cities to have access to all the International Federations and their stakeholders in one location over several days. There were numerous meetings, speeches and discussions and I attended one of them given by the Milan-based software company, Green Future Project.
Raffaele Chiulli, the President of the Association of IOC Recognized Sports Federations (ARISF) introduced the talk by saying that Sustainability was not just a trendy project, but a model for the federations’ activities. Co-Founder and CCO, Briano Martinoni Caleppio, and Partnership Manager, Jonathan Pugerup gave the presentation advocating for the role of sports, federations and fans in addressing environmental sustainability. There’s is a software company that provides a set of digital tools for measuring climate footprint and reducing emissions.
